Our Program

Core programs objectives are:

  1. Work
    • Goal: Participants will learn the skills necessary to work in natural work settings as independently as possible.
    • Objectives:
      • Increase job skills of the participants
      • Increase supported work opportunities in local community
      • Provide training and ongoing support to businesses to support inclusion Seek out and support job matches that are beneficial to the participant and business
      • Provide ongoing support to businesses and participants as identified
  2. Transit Training
    • Goal: Participants will learn how to take public transportation to their individual level of independence.
    • Objectives:
      • Learn the skills necessary to move effectively and safely from place to place within the local community (e.g., in school, in the home, at work, and in the community)
      • Increase skills and experiences so that participants can utilize public transportation.
  3. Recreation
    • Goal:Participants will engage in recreation activities that reflect participants personal preferences.
    • Objectives:
      • To support participants with a range of activities to be physically active in daily life
      • Increase support to recreational programs including ID persons
      • Increase life skills , leisure and recreational activities of participants
  4. Volunteering
    • Goal: Each participant will serve the community by participating as a volunteer in a community service agency.
    • Objectives:
      • Volunteer activities/opportunities be chosen and arranged to match the capacities, support needs, and interests of each participant.
      • Create a partnership with volunteer agencies that will encourage and support participants contributions
      • Provide training and ongoing support to volunteer agencies to support inclusion
  5. Literacy
    • Goal:Participants will engage in learning activities that develop their literacy and communication skills.
    • Objectives: Improve reading and writing
      • to organize life,
      • for personal communication,
      • private leisure
      • making sense of information or situations in every day life
  6. Social network
    • Goal: Participants will develop friendships with same aged peers in a variety of natural social environments.
    • Objectives:
      • Provide the link and support so friendships can develop
      • Provide social opportunities in natural setting
      • Encourage regular, frequent contact based on common interest and fun
      • Interaction as the priority

Core Programs of ABLE Network are designed and implemented to:

  • Support the well being of the participant served
  • Ensure safety of participant as they gain life skills leading towards independence
  • Enhance the quality of life of participant
  • Reduce needs and build resiliency of participant
  • Improve participants functioning in community
  • Support inclusion into the community
