Program Facilitator, Full-Time

Responsibilities (REMOTE):

  • Work with The ABLE Network team in the development and implementation of our on-line continuing education
  • Facilitate and design remote/on-line workouts to encourage participants to exercise safely from home and make healthy life choices
  • Model The ABLE Network’s vision, mission and core values
  • Work effectively with program director, program manager and other program facilitators to achieve The ABLE Network strategic direction

Responsibilities (IN-PERSON):

  • Work with The ABLE Network team in the development and implementation of our continuing education program which includes small group activities and 1:1 literacy coaching
  • Support our participants at a local recreation facility, to encourage their active participation in their individual and group fitness programs, safe use of equipment and healthy life choices
  • Support participants as they gain the knowledge and skills necessary to use community transportation so they can travel effectively and safely from place to place within the local community
  • Provide guidance to volunteers who support our life-skills/literacy, volunteering and recreation program
  • Provide job coaching to participants as they gain skills in work experience and employment
  • Provide ongoing support to our community partners (volunteer agencies, businesses, recreational facilities)
  • Model The ABLE Network’s vision, mission and core values
  • Work effectively with program director, program manager and other program facilitators to achieve The ABLE Network strategic direction

Requirements:

  • Post-Secondary education with preference to Developmental Service Worker (2 year program) or suitable equivalent
  • Relevant experience in working with youth/adults  with intellectual disabilities
  • Relevant experience with providing  positive behavioural supports
  • A team player
  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal/written/computer communication skills
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Comfort with using Zoom (including screen sharing etc.), PowerPoint and other remote/on-line educational resources
  • Excellent observation skills are required to effectively support participants remotely
  • Reliable and stable internet is required for this job (REMOTE)
  • Current CPR and First Aid certificate (IN-PERSON)
  • Use of a personal vehicle is required for this job (IN-PERSON)
